colour portraits
Some things cannot be spoken. They can only be felt. And sometimes... they can be painted.
An original intuitive painting inspired by the colours of your soul expression.
There are colours that belong to a sunset, colours that belong to the ocean, and colours that somehow become connected to certain memories, seasons and places.
And then there are the colours that seem to belong to us.
For many years now, while sitting with people in my work, I have experienced colour arriving around them. Sometimes a single hue will make itself known; other times an entire palette will unfold. I don't choose the colours. I notice them. I listen to them.
And somewhere along the way, I began wondering:
what would happen if I painted them?
How Colour Found Me
Curiously, it was during the time I lost much of my eyesight that colour began revealing itself to me in an entirely different way. As my physical sight changed, my intuitive senses seemed to awaken more fully.
Colour became louder.
At first it was subtle. During healing sessions and intuitive readings, colours would gently make themselves known. Each colour seemed to carry its own feeling, quality and invitation.
Over the years, I came to trust these impressions as part of the way I listen.
And then there was painting.
Art has always been one of my deepest loves.
Long before it became this offering, painting was where I found wonder, stillness and expression. It is one of those rare places where I can disappear for a while—where time behaves differently, thinking quietens, and something can move through my hands that I could never quite arrive at through thought alone.
Looking back, I can see that my love of painting and my work as an intuitive healer were never really separate paths. They were quietly preparing to meet one another.
Colour Portraits are born from that meeting place: the convergence of two lifelong callings— intuition and artistry.
Each portrait brings these two worlds together on canvas: the quiet listening of my intuitive practice and the timeless language of colour, creating a piece of art that belongs uniquely to you.
What is a Colour Portrait?
A Colour Portrait is not a painting of your physical appearance. It is an original intuitive artwork inspired by the colours that arise for me as I quietly tune into you.
Before I begin painting, I spend time in stillness with your photographs and allow your unique palette to emerge. Rather than painting a likeness, I allow colour to guide the creative process, creating an artwork inspired by the beauty, qualities and essence I intuitively perceive within you in this season of your life.
There is no template and no predetermined palette. I don't know exactly what I am going to paint before I begin—and that is part of the beauty of it.
No two Colour Portraits will ever be the same. Just as no two people express themselves in quite the same way, every painting carries its own movement, harmony and presence.
Your portrait has never existed before, and it will never be made again.
More Than a Painting
We spend so much of our lives surrounded by reminders of what needs our attention—the calendar, the inbox, the phone, the list waiting on the kitchen bench.
I love the idea that the things we choose to live alongside can remind us of something else entirely.
A Colour Portrait is created to be one of those things. A beautiful place for your eyes to land. A moment of pause in the ordinary movement of your day. A reminder of your beauty, your strength, your tenderness and the particular expression of life that belongs to you.
Not because a painting can tell you who you are, but because sometimes beauty has a way of returning us to something we already know.
My hope is that your Colour Portrait becomes more than something beautiful on your wall. That over time it becomes part of your home and part of your story—a quiet remembering of something within you that has always been there.
The Ritual of Creating Your Portrait
Every Colour Portrait begins before my brush touches the canvas.
Once your commission is received, you'll be invited to send me two or three recent photographs of yourself.
I spend time with these photographs in stillness, allowing the first impressions and colours to emerge before I begin painting.
From there, I allow the work to unfold intuitively. There is no predetermined design or palette. I follow the colours, movement and qualities that reveal themselves as I paint.
Flower essences and essential oils are also intuitively selected during this process and gently infused into the pigments as the painting unfolds, becoming woven into the tapestry of the canvas itself. They are an unseen part of the work, accompanying the layers of colour and the quiet ritual of its creation.
Each portrait is painted slowly and entirely by hand, within a space of presence, prayer and intention.
